BQ2083-V1P3: Sleep mode Current Consumption

What is the consumption of the bq2083 while it is in sleep mode. It cannot be found in the datasheet anywhere. I've asked customer support for this answer and they referred me here because they could not find it in the datasheet --- which is the first thing I mentioned when I asked the question. I'm guessing the sleep mode current consumption is on the order of 1uA or less. Is this so? And yes I know, this is a NRND part --- my client has a legacy design I am supporting. Can I get a definitive number for sleep mode Iq please? TIA

Hi James,
The sister device, the bq2084 has a sleep mode 0f 8uA so this gauge should be around the same value

Thanks Onyx,

Is there any thought to fixing the datasheet? I know, it is an old NRND part, but the industry my client participates in has very high regulatory standards so it would be helpful if there was a definitive max number (over T -40 to 85C) to which I could refer.

I need the bq2083 datasheet to be updated to fix the oversight. I can't document a "should be around the same value" for regulatory purposes.

Hi James
That is a legacy and very old device and there is no current plans to update the document and that is not something I control unfortunately.. If you need something that has updated values in the DS, i would recommend using a more recent device.

As I said "I know, it is an old NRND part, but the industry my client participates in ..." I don't have the option of using a new part so I guess my client will be contacting Ti directly, which is a shame, as I didn't wish to waste my client's time. To the extent my client does substantial business with Ti, I'm guessing the DS will get changed to fix the oversight.

I understand. Issues like this are best dealt with offline and not just on the forums. With some form of escalation, that will hopefully get your client what he needs.
