UCC28950: UCC28950 Delay EF resistor value

Part Number: UCC28950

Hi Support team

There are tips below the 20th page of the specifications. What is the reason? We only have a model that puts 3Kohm. What effect will it have?

  • Hi Red

There is unlikely to be any immediate damage to the IC but two things will happen if the REF is less than the recommended value. First, the tolerance of the programmed delay from device to device will increase. Second, there is likely to be a long term reliability issue with the device - especially if the resistor is as low as 3kOhm.

The SR delays can be programmed from a minimum of about 30ns to over 1600ns using the allowed range of resistors - I don't really see the need to go outside of that range.

What delay are you trying to accomplish and why do you need such a short delay. ?

Do you have an update here or should I close the thread ?
