TLV62585: output capacitor value confirm

Hi Pals,

Could I use output capacitor value 330uF+100uF for TLV62585 ?

I am worry about that it will trigger OCP function because the soft start is the internal function for TLV62585.

What is the max output capacitor value could I use to design in TLV62585 ?

My design condition as below:

Vin=5V, Vout=1.0V, Iout=3A

Vin=5V, Vout=1.2V, Iout=3A

Vin=5V, Vout=1.8V, Iout=3A

Please help to confirm it. Thank you.

Hi Peter,

It is possible to use a output capacitor higher than 47uF but a feedforward capacitor is required (refer to the fig. below). With regards to max output capacitor, I will get back to you in the next week because it is not only related to soft start but loop stability needs to be considered as well.

in application, customer needs to put 330uF + 100uF output cap on TLV62585.

Could you please help to verify it ASAP?

Hi Peter/Jason,

The maximum Cout that was verified is up to 60uF only (with Cff) with stable feedback loop. Can you provide the schematic diagram with component values so we can assess the loop stability?

Customer is designing TLV62585. we didn't have complete schematic yet.
or
you could suggest us the component which could support 100uF + 330uF output cap.
what is the control stretegy in TLV62585?

Hi Jason,

Having a ~400uF output cap is non-standard solution so it requires circuit simulation.
I will get back to you once the data is available.
