TPS54620: connect EN pins together with TPS56121

Hi,

My customer connects EN pins of tps54620 and tps56121 together. I think it is fine as both have internal pullup current source,which can be paralleled, in Function Block Diagram of datasheet. Could you pls help confirm if there is any risk for the actual inside circuit?

It is ok to use a common EN signal for more than one device.

Hi Jerry,

One thing to be careful of when doing this is to make sure the 6 V abs max of the TPS54620 EN pin is not exceeded. I'm not familiar enough with the TPS56121 to know high its SS/EN pin can charge to and it will likely be close to the BP voltage.

In the schematic I see the input voltage is 5 V in this application. A Vin of 5 V will keep the EN pins below 6 V.
