Hi Elsa,

I would recommend THVD1450 for your RS-485 transceiver. It operates from VCC = 3.3 V or 5 V and supports up to 50 Mbps. If you have any questions on it, please let us know.

Hi Elsa,

To answer question #3, I would recommend the following Precision ADCs:

ADS1220 as a lower cost, good performance option
ADS124S06 offers better performance compared to ADS1220 at a good price point
ADS1235 as the lowest noise, highest performance option for very high precision weigh scales

All of these ADC solutions include an integrated gain stage (PGA) to amplify the resistive bridge output signals and differential reference inputs to implement a ratiometric voltage reference configuration that is commonly-used in bridge circuits.

Hi Elsa,

Yes, the ADS1231 can definitely be used for weigh scale applications. If you need more channels, use the ADS1232. If you need more channels or higher speed, check out the ADS1235.

For weighing applications, the ADC generally needs the following depending on the performance level (noise-free counts) you want to achieve:

Differential reference inputs
Low-noise, high-gain PGA (~64-128 mV/V)
at least 1 differential input

Many of delta-sigma ADCs include other features (integrated reference, current sources, etc.) that are not always useful for weigh scales, but you could certainly still use these ADCs if you needed a smaller package, lower power, etc. compared to the ADS1231.
