Hi Support team
My customer has designed in bq25150 into their product.
They also want to design a gang charger for extra batteries and would like to use the bq25150 to keep the firmware the same.
they are asking for help with these questions:
- If we use this charger IC for our new gang charger ( 8-battery in total, CC/CV= 350mA/4.4V each), is there any thermal concern? Does TI have any thermal analysis data and test report that can share with us?
- If we don’t need power potion of BQ25150, do we need to do any to BQ25150’s PMID or LS/LDO pins? PMID add 3uf cap, LDO keep disabled? Please confirm
- As we know that California Energy Commission compares the energy consumed by the batteries being fully discharged after being fully charged, to the energy consumed at the AC power line by the unit’s power supply. There is an equation requiring a minimum efficiency. Since BQ25150 is a linear charger IC, is there any problem here? Does TI have some test data to confirm no issue here?
Thanks
