TPS5450: EMI performance

Part Number: TPS5450
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: LMS3655

I have currently two parts from same above family 1)TPS5450DDAR and 2)TPS5450MDDAREP .What is difference between these two?what SWIFT converter means?

My input to regulator is 24V and output is 12V. Operating temp require -30 to +55 deg.  is there any better EMI perfoemnce on TPS5450MDDAREP compared to other ?

There is no use if I use TPS5450MDDAREP if it doesn't offer low EMI/ Radiaion.

Also is texas instrument provides any Low EMI special regulators??

  • Pradeep,

The EP version stands for "Enhanced Product" (more info on EP). It is hi-rel and has enhanced specs such as operating temp down to -55C vs -40C.

SWIFT is a trademark name for some of our DC/DC converters.

EP should not have better or worse EMI performance.

Best EMI performance for your specs would probably be LMS3655. The package and pinout allow for better layout for EMI considerations. It also has spread spectrum which reduces the EMI peaks.
