TPS2359: Set 3.3 V rail output current limit to 250mA

Hi all,

Both channels of TPS2359 are used. One channel uses 3.32K, which still follows the AMC requirements, and the other channel uses 2.3K to adjust the current limiting point, nearly 250mA is needed. By adjusting RSUM3X to 2.3K, 283mA overcurrent point is set. No other modifications are made; the schematic diagram is as follows:

As the max continus current is not specified, I want to know if 250mA continues current is allowed for TPS2539. The enviroment temp is about 75 degree.

Hi Praveen,

As current limit value and fast trip value are very close, and min fast trip value is lower than 250mA, which is 240mA. Does this mean the continous current can not be higher than 240mA?

Hi Jeff,

Yes, you are right ! The Maximum continuous current cannot be greater than the minimum fast trip threshold.

So, we recommend to use only 3.32 k ohms resistor at SUM3x pin.
