BQ34Z100-G1: Optimum R3 value

Dear TI support team,

The typical application for multi-cell configuration of the bq34z100-G1 shown in Figure 16 of the datasheet shows a R3 value of 10k.

An * is next to it and states to Optimize for required voltage and current.

What would be an appropriate value for an 8-cell (25.6V nominal) battery pack?

    Hi Kevin,

    This is a system level design question. With respect to the device, the REGIN pin accepts voltage levels between 2.7 V and 4.5 V. Another possibility is to use an LDO or other device. Design examples are given in the datasheet in section 9: Power Supply Recommendations.
