Part Number: TPS27081A
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TPS22915, TPS22918

TPS27081A:

Dear All,

Please advice to use  TPS27081A: Ic as a On Off switch

Can I use above IC when switch press that connected to on off pin the system should on and once again press it the system should off

please advice

  • Hi Dayan,

The TPS27081A is a combination NFET and PFET device. As such, the device can be used as an ON/OFF device such that when the GPIO is asserted high, then current can flow from VIN to VOUT.

For a device with additional features such as slew rate control, quick output discharge, etc, I would consider looking at the TPS22915 or the TPS22918.

    Thanks,

  • Dear Arthur Huang

Thanks for the reply and info

As you know    when GPIO become HIGH then it remaining HIGH until it becomes LOW by the program But in my case I am using Micro switch to ON and OFF , In this case when switch pressed  it goes HIGH and it goes LOW once it released  soon

Please let me know that in the above condition current flow from VIn  to Vout even switch is released and in the next switch pressed Vin and Vout should disconnected

    Please advice

    Thanks in advanced

  • Hi Dayan,

The load switch doesn't have the functionality of turning on when first enabled and turning off when enabled again. Can you use a logic signal (such as a flip-flop) to invert the output signal whenever the switch/button is pressed?

    Thanks,
    Arthur Huang
