Can you please  explain the use of shutdown mode if entered via the ManufacturerAccess() MAC Shutdown command.  Since the FET's are turned OFF, if I issue the shutdown command while VCC is (say) 12V, the device can only be awoken once a charger is attached ( "when the voltage at the PACK pin > VSTARTUP")?
