Greetings,

I have a new custom board with a BQ78350-R1 device connected to a pack with Samsung INR18650-30Q batteries. I need to update the chemistry in the BQ chip. However, I get "Error code = 1253" and a red error status at the bottom "Chemistry programming Error: Client waited more than 30 seconds for pipe."

Any clues as to what the issue could be?

Security mode bits (SEC1, SEC0) are set for Unsealed.

Otherwise I can talk to the BQ78350 with no issues other than my capacity says it's at 3% when my average cell voltage is 3.4Volts.

Hi Gary,

I'm not sure what would cause this. The last E2E user who received this error code was able to resolve it by unplugging the EV2400, closing bqStudio, reconnecting the EV2400 and starting the software again. e2e.ti.com/.../631127

Can you give this a try?

Your well wishes must have fixed my issue. I tried that multiple times yesterday with no success.

However after your reply and testing charge, discharge, and COV operation operation today, I tried again and it worked.
