BQ34Z100-G1: BQ34Z100-G1 : Problem with Learning cycle of bq34z100g1

Part Number: BQ34Z100-G1
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: BQSTUDIO, GPCCHEM

Hi,

We are using BQ34Z100-G1 in our BMS who should be configurable for any of Li-ion/NMC batteries.

For any new configuration, I need to conduct a SOC learning. This does not work always. I'm using Battery management Studio (bqStudio) 1.3.5.4.1.

I noticed that the SOC learning works only when this register Registers\Control shows a value of 0x0016:

I have no idea who drives this register?

Thanks in advance for your help.

  • Hi Naid,

Unfortunately, the attached image isn't loading on this end - please resend.

With respect to bqStudio, please upgrade to the latest version. It can be found by downloading the 'bqstudiotest' link at: www.ti.com/.../bqstudio

To perform a learning, the gauge will first need to be fully configured. Please follow all of the steps in section 8 of the datasheet. This will include performing a chemID match using the gpcchem tool, programming the chemID in the gauge, configuring the dataflash parameters and then running a learning cycle.

    Sincerely,
    Bryan Kahler
