TPS53681: Unused Pins

Hi Team,

Customer is using TPS53681RSBT in current design and not using below mentioned pins/signal, where to connect these pins when they are not used.

Hi Mathew,

Is your customer using the second output on the 681 at all? If they are using it then it sounds like there are probably issues with the schematic and you should do a full review against the controller and power stage datasheet guidelines.

Assuming though that the second channel isn't needed:

BVSP = BVSN = GND
BCSP1 = 3.3V

Other than that the other B channel pins can all be left floating but tying enable to ground (either directly or with a resistor) wouldn't hurt.

Thanks for the reply.

Customer is not using second output of TPS53681RSBT in design.

Also need clarification for BCSP1 pin. In datasheet, it is mentioned to connect BCSP1 to GND when not in use, please confirm.

Hi Shinu,

Thanks for clearing up the application. You are correct about BCSP1, it should be to GND like the datasheet claims. Tying CSPX to 3.3V disables a phase but to disable the rail CSP1 should go to ground. Sorry about the confusion.
