BQ27510-G3: if this device is recommended for new design

Hello team,

my customer has started a new design and he selected BQ27510 as a candidate for evaluation of battery fuel gauge (single cell) with the following Key specifications below.

Since this part looks a bit old, please advise back if this device recommended and/or there is a better candidate for this job?

Key specifications:

• Single cell Li-ion support.
• Impedance track algorithm based.
• Panasonic’s NCA103450 cell parameters model exists and available for loading to flash
• Not a BGA part, no need for micro vias.
• I2C host communication , system side
• Raw current, voltage and capacity data.
• % SOC calculation algorithm, can be auto calibration free.
