TPS7A4501-SP: Junction Temperature Absolute Maximum Rating

Part Number: TPS7A4501-SP

In datasheet SLVSC31D (Revision Aug-2015) in §7.1 the Abs Max Junction Temperature is spec'd as 150°C. In §11.3, it says 125°C, and so does MILSMD5962-12224, Rev.D.

Now, 125°C is not so nice because it needs to be derated by 40°C (per ESA Standard ECSS‐Q‐ST‐30‐11C),  which limits the operating junction temperature to 85°C.

Q: What is the correct value for the Absolute Maximum Junction Temperature?

  • Hey Michael,

Absolute Maximum Junction Temperature of the part will be 150 C.

125 C is the recommended maximum junction temperature.

Staying under absolute will guarantee no damage to the part, however part specifications are not tested there but rather at 125 C.

    Thanks,

    Daniel
