TPS1663: tCL_PLIM without thermal shutdown

Hi,

I have a question about fault condition.

In D/S,  9.3.4.1 Overload Protection
 "The maximum duration for the over current through the FET is tCL_PLIM(dly), 162 msec (typical)."

In other words, does this device latch-off without thermal shutdown?
My customer previously tested this feature for TPS2660. However, this device required a thermal shutdown for latch-off.

The TPS26624 was able to operate as customer desired, but I will propose the TPS16630 for the power boards with higher current.

    Hi Hiroshi,

    Correct. The max overload duration is 162msec for TPS1663. After that the device shutdown and the subsequent operation of the device depends on the MODE configuration (Auto-Retry or latch OFF) . Refer Table-1 in the datasheet.
