BQ25713: Selection of inductor and FET

Part Number: BQ25713

Hi,

I am a FAE of a distributor dealing with TI products.
We are proposing the BQ25713 device to our customers.
The specifications are below.
I would like to propose FETs for Q1 to Q4 in data sheet Fig.46, but is there any FET that meets the specifications?
Are there any products recommended as inductors for the buck-boost circuit?

(specification)
INPUT : 12V
OUTPUT : 9V, 7V, 6V, 5V
IOUT : 3A
Battery : 4.2V (15Ah, charged in 5hours or 2.5hours)
Charges DCDC step-down from Input to Battery.
DCDC boost supply from Battery to Output (OTG).
Best regards,
  • Hey Kaji,

We would typically recommend you start with the BQ25713EVM for a list of components used for the evaluation of the charger. The power stage MOSFETs and the inductor on the EVM were chosen to support the full range of the operation of the charger, for demonstration purposes. The MOSFETs were selected such that they can support the peak current and power dissipation, as well as have low enough RDSon and Qg to showcase the performance of the charger. The inductor was chosen to support the full peak inductor current without saturating.

I would recommend starting from Section 3.1 Bill of Materials of the BQ25713EVM User's Guide in gauge the specifications of the power stage MOSFETs and the inductor.

    Regards,
