UCC27714: replace L6498

Hi Sir,

I would like to know if I wan to replace L6498 with UCC27714, it is a good fit?

Are they P2P direct replace?

Any other better suggestion?

Hello Patrick,

I reviewed the L6498 datasheet compared to the UCC27714, and the UCC27714 is the best fit for pin to pin replacement of the L6498, in the 14 pin SOIC package.

The UCC27714 has higher gate drive strength with 4A source and sink capability Vs the 2A L6498. This can be an advantage to driving larger MOSFET devices and/or reducing the switching losses. The UCC27714 will require an external boot diode, but the pinout and other parameters such as UVLO and delay times look similar to the L6498.

Hello Patrick,

We do have a 600V half bridge gate driver with 1.8A/2.8A drive capability which is closer to the L6498 drive current. This part is the UCC27712 in the SOIC 8 package. The pinout is different than the LM6498 8 pin package however. You can find the datasheet here:
