Hi,
We are trying to build a battery pack BMS POC for a friend's company. We finalized to use BQ79606EVM-897 module to build this BMS along with a TI mC.
However, there were multiple warnings in the EVM user manual mentioning that this board could have high voltages and should be used only by qualified professionals.
I am a hobbyist and have worked on Arduino-based projects before. In this POC, I would be using a max of 6V (2s1p config) in one battery stack EVM and again 6V in another battery stack EVM. Two EVMs to build Daisy chain in the POC.
Would it be risky to work on this EVM? Though I intend to use low voltage cells for POC, I am not sure if the internal circuitry would generate higher voltage/current.
Also, in future, we would like to use this EVM to build a 48V BMS. How would this change the electrical risks?
Thanks in advance for your response.
Regards,
Milir
