Hi Team,
Can you please assist with the question below from my customer?:
"I have a question about the over charge current register settings. When you transition via different temps….std temp, high temp, etc….. you can set different charge current rates. With the over charge current threshold set to a value like 500ma one transition to the next will trigger an event. I have set the time in seconds to 30 seconds to allow the charger to adjust charging current to the new lower rate if it was a transition is due to change to high temp setting but the charger broadcasts TCA immediately as soon as CHGC is set. If chargers are looking at the status registers they will never be able to transition charge currents from high rate to low rate before the battery broadcasts a TCA and Is there a way to delay this event? Is it a code bug? I can provide a better explanation if needed.
To work around this with the customer I set the timeout threshold for CHGC to 30 seconds to allow the battery to continue to broadcast the new lower charger charge rate and not turn of the charge fet.
I also have told the customer to ignore the TCA command in the status registers for 30 seconds. As soon as the charger reacts and lowers the charge current to the new requested charge rate the TCA goes away and the battery continues to charge."
Thanks,
Antonio
