TPS63060: Single LiPo to 3.3V converter

Hi

I have to convert from Vbat (from a single cell Lipo battery) to 3.3v @ 1A. The project requires a low quiescent current (say less than 30uA). It looks like the TPS63060 is Texas's best alternative.

Is there any other solution?

    Hi Gilberto,

    The TPS63060 is more suitable for multi cell batteries. A better alternative is the TPS63802. The quiescent current is well below 30 µA, and for Vout=3.3 V it can support Iout=1 A down to Vin=2 V, whereas the TPS63060 can go down to Vin=2.6 V. However it is still in preview phase, but preproduction samples are available. Otherwise the TPS63020 is also a better alternative, with higher Iq than TPS63802 but lower than TPS63060. Compared to the TPS63060, it can operate at lower input voltages and support 1 A down to Vin=2 V.

    Is there any other requirement, such as extra functions or package type?

    I am trying to avoid BGA package. So, TPS63802 would be a good alternative. Do you have a final number for the quiescent current?

    Hi Gilberto,

    The quiescent current is 11 µA, you can take a look at the electrical specifications in the datasheet. This results in a no-load input current of around 20 µA.
