TPS65400: schematic review

Part Number: TPS65400

Hi TI,

We have designed power supply to be used with a custom network processor.

Our noise requirement is less than 10mv peak to peak.

Please review the schematic and give suggestions if any modification is required in schematic like inductor value, input and output capacitor values and quantity etc to achieve the noise requirements.

Especially check the supplies named L_IVDDPLL_0.85V and L_IVDDR_0.85V ,as these are supplies for processor's PLL and serdes IO supply.

Thanks,

  • hi Verma,
We are looking into the schematic and give you feedback on Monday.
  • Hi Lalit,

    Please find the feedback below,

    1. Suggest to add 0.1uF capacitor in close to each PVIN pin.

    2. As you have strict output ripple limitation, please add 1-2 output capacitor on each channel, leave them as DNP. Then you can add more output capacitance if the ripple is out of spec.

    3. Compensation network. The parallel capacitor, also known as rolling capacitor(C159, C137, C128), should be in range of pF, not nF.

Others looks good to me. Any further question, please let us know. Thanks!

    Regards,

    Hao
