What does the following sentence mean? Can't I/O port be used directly to control EN Pin?

“The EN pin has an internal pullup-current source which allows the user to float the EN pin to enable the device. If an application requires control of the EN pin, use open-drain or open-collector output logic to interface with the pin”

Hi,

You can use external enable signal to control EN pin, please find the enable threshold voltage in datasheet "6.5 Electrical Characteristics".

What does it mean? Must I use an open-drain or open-collector output logic to connect to a pin? Is I/O normal connection control not working?

Hi,

The internal I/O circuit is achieved through open-drain or open-collector output logic.

I used to control the IO port of the EN pin of the chip.
If the current output capability is greater than the current demand of the EN pin,
I can use the IO port to directly control the EN foot. Does this mean?
The manual does not see the EN current has a large current demand?

Hi,

For most of I/O, the internal circuits are open-drain or open-collector output, you can connect the I/O with EN pin directly.

If there is pull-up resister connected with I/O, the pull-up resister should be a litter large, such as 100kohm, it would be better to limit the sink current within 100uA.
