    Hello Kamesh, 

    I encourage you to use WEBENCH POWER DESIGNER for your power supply: https://webench.ti.com/power-designer/switching-regulator   .  

    From the parameters you specified, WEBENCH generated over 100 different designs for the 15VOUT/1A supply.  Based on what are most important criteria for this design, you can then sort the choices, compare topologies and parameters, selecting the design that best meets your needs. For example, if pcb space is a concern, you can sort the designs by Smallest Footprint.  

    I also suggest you review our Reference Designs for metering; here are complete designs that could ease your design process:

    Thank you for the reply and your kind suggestions.

    We are looking for +15V/1A Non-isolated AC/DC power supply. Using Webench I am not able to get non-isolated designs(No transformer used). Can you please help us with it. Below are our requirements:

    • Input - 85V to 265V AC
    • Frequency of AC input - 50Hz
    • Output(Non-Isolated) - 15V, 0.8A to1A 
    • Application - Metering

    Also, We are using PMP10833 15Vout, 1Aout, AC-DC Buck Converter Reference Design for our application. Below is the link for the same:

    For metering we will be taking Line(Phase) of the input AC as a reference ground. It seems to be not possible here as bridge rectifier is used. So please let us know how could we use the power supply for metering applications ? or can we use a simple diode + cap for AC-DC conversion instead of the bridge rectifier ?

    Hi Kamesh,

    I suggest you try to replace the bridge with the diode and cap, you will need to increase the capacitance on the input side to compensate for the half wave rectification.
