TPS24750: constant current limit feature

Hi Team,

My customer wants to limit output current at 100mA when load current increases more than 100mA.
He wants not to set fault timer, it is required that 100mA is continue to flow forever until output current decreases below 100mA.

Is the feature possible for TPS24750?
If the answer is no, I would like to know if there is TI device that meets the requirement.
Input voltage is 9V in this case.

Hi Yaita,

TPS24750 is a circuit breaker type device and does not regulate output current to 100mA.
TPS2662 is suitable for your requirement.

What is the application use case ? and the load ?

I apologize forgetting to tell you.
It is required 3A(max) for the power switch, so TPS2662 can't meet the requirement.

The application is electrical equipment that supports USB Power Delivery (DFP application).
My customer wants to limit source current (power save) to USB device in specific operation.

Unfortunately, there is no single chip solution to meet your requirement
9V, 100mA to 3A, current limiting device

One proposal is using two TPS2596 devices in parallel as per app note www.ti.com/.../slva836.pdf
