TPS40007: Can TPS40007 support 3.8V input 2.8V/18.8A output?

Part Number: TPS40007

Hi

my customer has an application that the input is 3.8V and the output is 2.8V/18.8A.

TPS40007 is a good deivce, in EVM, the output current is only 10A.

so customer want to know if TPS40007 can support 3.8V input and 2.8V/18.8A output?

thanks.

  • Max,

Technically this seems to be okay. I would recommend choosing a FET with very low gate capacitance and thresholds and miller voltage to make it possible.

The gate drive is 3ohms hence the need for a low threshold/miller plateau FET. Fets with miller voltage of around 1.5V would be ideal.

    Regards,

    Mathew
