TL431: TL431 - TINA QUESTIONS.

Part Number: TL431

Hi Sir,

The schematic below is a 1A constant charging circuitry. We use 5V (USB port) to charge the battery from 3V to 4.2V and use TL431 to stop charge at Vbat = 4.2V. We have several questions below.

  1. Why don’t we see VF7 and VF5 waveforms when V1 (Vbat) = 3V? But, we can see VF5 and VF7 waveforms when V1 = 4.2V.
  2. Is V1 a battery library? If not, Is there a Tina battery library so that we can see V1 voltage raise step by step and charge 1A charging?
  3. When we use VF1, VF3, VF4 and VF7, we need to use  the icon tool to touch each waveform and understand its VFx name. Is there another way to automatically show each waveform?
  4. Why don’t we see different charging current when Vbat (V1) is at 3V or 4.2V? The simulation show the same current. It is wired.

V1(bat)=3V

V1(bat)=4.2V

Thanks, Ian.
