BQ25895: BQ25890HRTWR

Hi

For the activation of the charger, do I always have to communicate through I2C?

I always want the output to have 4.2v although the battery has no charge.

Thanks.
  • Hi Fany,

No. The charger operates in default mode with default settings (VBATREG=4.2V, IINDPM set per D+/D- but clamped by ILIM resistor, ICHRG=2A). If you attach a battery with less than the MINSYS voltage (default=3.5V) or have no battery and disable charge with/CE pin, the SYS output provides the MINSYS voltage not 4.2V.

    Jeff
  • Hi Jeff F

    Thanks for you answer.

You can help me with a component that always has 4.2v in SYSTEM, even though my battery has no charge and the current is 5 A.

I want something similar to this one but with more Current BQ24076RGTT.

    Thanks.
  • Hi Fany,

The only NVDC power path charger with MINSYS voltage higher than 3.7V is BQ25713 buck boost charger. It requires host firmware and I2C for operation.

    Jeff
  • Thanks Jeff.

I would have liked more a component like this: BQ24076RGTT

It does not have many components and I do not need to program it. You will have a similar one with current of 3-4 A

    Thank you.
