Power IC recommendation

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: LP3852, TPS7A33

Hello

My customer have below two power demands, do you have any solutions for this ? thanks

1) 12V  -->  +/- 6V /1.5A

2) +/- 6V --> +/- 5V/1A

  • Hello Fandy,
    TI does not have a single IC solution for either 1 or 2.

    For #1, there are many Buck IC's that could be used .
    Module, Converter with internal switches, Controller with external switches.
    Here is a Webench design for 12Vin to 6Vout 1.5A

    Here is a Webench design for 12Vin to -6Vout 1.5A
    webench.ti.com/.../SDP.cgi
    LM25088MH-1/NOPB

    For #2 may I assume that you want to take +6V to +5V and -6V to -5V?
    An LDO would create 1.5Watts of heat, (Vin-Vout) x Iout, which is acceptable in many cases.

    For +6V to +5V 1.5A
    LP3852 5V fixed version- 1.5A Fast Response Ultra Low Dropout Linear Regulators

    For -6V to -5V 1.5A, TI does not have a LDO solution, nor a switching solution.
    TI can provide a 1Amp LDO solution.
    TPS7A33 - -3V to -36V Vin, 1A output current, ultra-low-noise, high-PSRR, low-dropout (LDO) linear regulator
