Recommended 15W isolated power supply

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: PMP, TPS40210

Hi TI

We want to design a 15W isolated power supply board.

Input is 24V.

Output can support 5V/12V/18V/24V/48V

Only one voltage will be output at a time.

All power is 15W.

Do TI have recommended chips?

We want to use MCU to control the switch to change the output feedback divider resistance.

Thank you,

Jerry

  • Hello Jerry,
    There are many IC's and methods of creating what you need.
    The TI Reference Design site is the best place to begin your search.

    Here is a link to the search I just made;

    This PMP design is a good example.

    This reference design uses the TPS40210 current mode controller to generate an isolated 56V/0.35A output from a wide 9V - 57V DC input. This design uses diode rectification on the output stage and achieves efficiencies up to 89% at full load with peaks over 90%.

    You will need to modify the design to allow operation at the lower Vout and higher output currents.
