BQ40Z80EVM-020: Purpose of output diodes

Hi, I want to follow up on yanbin hao's question. Do we know the purpose of D1, D2, and D3? They are not present on the BQ40z50 or BQ76200 EVMs. Are they specific to the BQ40Z80?

Hi Derek,

D1 and D3 provide VGS protection for the FET.

D2 and D3 are also part of the reverse polarity circuit to provide protection if the connection is accidentally reversed.
