TPS544B20: TPS544B20 PIN Addr0 and Addr01 The problem of Resistance accuracy.

Part Number: TPS544B20

TPS544B20 PIN  Addr0 and Addr01 he resistance accuracy of datasheet is 1%, because the company can not use 17.8K/24.4K resistance, so I can only use 5% precision resistance, 17.8 to 17K or 18K integer resistance. Could you confirm this, please?

  • Mark,

The ADDR function for TPS544B20 is designed to use the specific resistors as listed in the datasheet Table 4 at 1% tolerance.  If you use the single E24 5% resistors with the closest value, you can get worst case conditions out of range or overlapping with other addresses.  Using two resistors in series may lessen the risk as you would be able to get much closer (sometimes exactly) to the Table 4 value and it would be unlikely that the tolerances for the ADDR set current, and both resistor values would be at the same worst case extremes, but there would still be a possibility of error.
