BQ27426: BIN pin internal circuit

Hi there,

BIN input can be confugured as the battery NTC measurement ADC.

The datasheet does not recommend to implement an external bias resistor for the NTC so I am guessing this is done internally - is that right? If so, what power rail is connected to?

Subsequent question is: if the temperature measurement is deactived by SW, then is the bias still ON or is it turned off?

My questions arise from the fact that I would like to my battery charger to also have access to the NTC voltage and I am not sure how to share it.

You can't share the Thermistor. You will have to use the internal temperature sensor of the chip or have your host write the temperature to the gauge.

Hi Onyx,

OK - that is understood.

I have it connected to both on a earllier design... Will turning off the feature change anything to the internal bias?

how do you plan on turning it off the feature? Using the settings in data flash? It might possibly still affect the gauges operation. You have to test and check.
