TPS53353: TPS53353 schematic design related question

Part Number: TPS53353

Hi team,

For below TPS53353DQPR schemetic design, my customer has 2 question:

  1. PR512 used 147K, check the datasheet Vtrip is 0.4~1.2V, if use 147k is OK here?  If change to 120K, how will it influence the real OCP?
  2. The output used two 220uf SP-CAP, if need ripple injection RC PR501,PR518,PC503?

Thanks and looking forward to your feedback.

  • Max,

    1. TPS53353 Vtrip is only guaranteed up to 1.2 V. We cannot predict what may happen if you use 147 k for PR512. You should limit it to 1.2 V nominal.
    2. TPS53353 is designed to use electrolytic capacitors with no ripple injection or ceramic capacitors with ripple injection. Mixing electrolytic with ceramic greatly complicates the design. It is possible, but will take some effort. You may be able to simulate it in pspice. I would recommend using all ceramic or all electrolytic output capacitors and then following the datasheet.
