BQ34Z100-G1: How to generate a srec file successful for bq34z100-g1?

Part Number: BQ34Z100-G1
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: BQSTUDIO, EV2400

Hi,

I have a question regarding generating a bq34z100-g1 srec file. Please help.

I am using EV2400, BQSTUDIO 1.3.86, my PC is 64-bit windons10. I can program gg file, and CHEM ID, but later when I try to generate a .srec file, it can be generated, but if use the .srec file to program bq34z100-g1, the srec file doesn't work.

Our production is using ATE system, and it only allows to use a .srec file to program the bq. Please help me to know why this happening, and how to solve the issue, how to use bqstudio to generate a useful .srec file.

Thanks,

Joy

  • Once you export the srec file, the gauge reverts back to sealed state if it was sealed before. Please unseal the gauge and then use the generated srec to program the gauge.
  • Hi Matt,

The bq is never sealed. I just double checked, it is unsealed. Please see the attached pictures.

Per your answer, my understanding, if  bq34z100-g1 is sealed, after we unseal it, we still can generate a golden srec file which is not sealed, am I right?

    Please advise.

    Thanks,

    Joy

  • Hi Joy,

The device must not only be unsealed, but in the unseal full access state.

Please ensure you unseal the device.  The icon of the ic on the dashboard should go from a black IC with a lock symbol, to a black IC with a lock symbol with a green circle and a plus sign.  Now, send the full access command.  The gauge should change to a black icon with ZZzz.

Now, try to export the SREC file.

    Sincerely,

    Bryan Kahler

  • Hi Bryan,
Got it, and I have already created srec file successfully, and the issue is caused by my mistake.
    Thanks a lot,
    Joy
