SN74LVC1T45 Enquiry for recommended application

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: SN74LVC1T45-Q1

Hello,

Just wanted to know if SN74LVC1T45QDCKRQ1 can be used for in-tire applications where temperature ranges from 0-125C,pressure 0-1300kPa and high vibration environment.

  • Hello and welcome to the forums!
The SN74LVC1T45-Q1 is rated for -40C to +125C operation, however it does not have any pressure or vibration ratings. To be fair though, I don't know of any semiconductor devices that do have that type of rating.

I'll ask my counterpart in our high-reliability group to comment if he knows of anything like that.
  • I am checking with our QA to see if he has any information with respect to vibration for plastic encapsulated devices.
I will reply back with what I find out.

    Regards,
    Wade
  • I was able to obtain some information:

Vibration and mechanical shock testing is typically not done on PEMs at the package level as there is not an internal cavity.   That type of testing is performed at the board level as the package-to-board solder joint is the weakest link.

PEMs are routinely used in launch vehicles and satellites.   In these applications, typical exposures include variable frequency vibration with a range of 20 Hz to 2,000 Hz with a peak acceleration of 20 g; constant acceleration as high as 12 g in any axis; and a 1,500 g peak level shock with a 0.5 millisecond pulse duration.

Vibration testing is not part of a standard JEDEC device qualification.

    Hopefully this is helpful.
