BQ24725: the chip does not work

Part Number: BQ24725

Hi,

I use BQ24725 to charge my battery. But the battery voltage can NOT be charged and it always keeps as 9.2V. My input voltage is 12.5V.

Could you please help review my schematic as attachment? The other picture is battery voltage waveform.

Thanks.

Kevin Xiong

  • Kevin,

BQ24725A is a host controlled charger. Was the charge enabled conditions ok (datasheet section 8.4.5)? Was the Charge Current and Charge Voltage written to the registers (datasheet section 8.5.3 and 8.5.4)? Why does the abttery have ~3V pulsing? It seems not right. Do you have the PHASE node waveform?
  • Hi Kevin,

In addition to Eric's comments, please take a look at Star's thread, in which I provided some comments on your schematic:

If possible, let's keep the discussion contained to one thread to make things more organized.

    Best regards,
