TPS61220: TPS61220: Vout when EN = 0V

Hi,

I'm using the TPS61220 to step up from a fixed 4.0V to 5.0V to supply USB devices. Everything works as expected, but if I disable the device (EN=0V) I still see a voltage at the output VOUT = 3.4V (when VIN = 4.0V). After digging into the datasheet I only can see the leakage current specified for Vout>Vin. So I guess we are using the the device in an unspecified manner. Is this correct? Is there any way to fix this?

Hi Stefan:

There is a diode from L pin to Vout pin. So it's normal that Vout has a value even disable the converter.If you want to avoid this situation, you may need add a FET to disconnect.

Actually, I'll recommend TPS61099, which has true disconnection function inside. You could have a look at this part and check if it meet your requirements. Thank you!
