BQ27220: product selection: coulomb counter with overcurrent alert

Hello,

We are searching for a coulomb counter for our 100Ah 48V battery stack. I can only find chips which do SoC calculation and need a voltage sensing pin for single cell as well, but actually we only need the coulomb counter and an alert signal if the current is exceeding a certain limit.

Can you recommend an IC for this purpose?

the bq35100 does just coulomb counting and has an alert pin though this can't be configured for over current limit. You can implement the current limit functionality with your host and a gpio pin

the device you mentioned seems to be only for non-rechargable batteries, measuiring only the current in one direction.

okay, we can implement the short circuit protection using a comparator and a GPIO. So then we only need a bidirectional (!) coulomb counter.
