How do we calculate the proper inductor value. The datasheet uses 30% inductor ripple current for the calculation. Does the ripple current have a range or does it have to be 30%

Hi Bill,
30%-40% is a generally accepted inductor current range for dc-dc converters. If higher than that either the output voltage ripple gets too high for most applications or the current limit circuitry can no longer accurately measure the current.
