LM25118: Negative output

Part Number: LM25118
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: LM5155

Hi team,

Does LM25118 support negative output? How to change the circuit?

Thanks very much!

Miranda

  • Hi Miranda,

For positive to negative conversion, the LM25118 is not a right choice. A right part is either a buck controller in inverting buck-boost configuration, or boost controller for an inverting sepic, or flyback,  and the right engineer will answer you. Please post with a part number (buck or boost), You need to tell the specs in order to get appropriate proposals from BU.

    Thanks,

  • Hi Youhao,

The input is 3.3V, output is -8 ~ -1.23V/5A. Do you have any recommendation? Thank you!

    Miranda

  • Hi Miranda,

You may consider the LM5155 in a inverting SEPIC.  If further support needed, you can reach to a TI sales representative or FAE  in your region, and ask for a reference design from TI Reference Design group.

    Thanks,

    Youhao
