LM25085A: help check on the FB pin connection to GND

hi Team,

my customer is evaluating the LM25085A for a constant current output design.

input: Battery pack voltage 17~29.4V

output voltage :Battery voltage

output current: continuous 7A, peak 15A 5 sec.

referring to the page 9 block diagram in the DS.

can we connect the FB pin to GND? so the voltage is not regulated and just limit the current?

any other effects if FB is connected to the GND? thanks

I do not think that grounding the FB pin is a good way to approach a CC regulator.

I do not think that it would work correctly with this type of architecture.

I would look at using an LM5117.

Also, you should be able to find several application notes on the TI website to help with a CC battery charger.
