BQ24773: typical charging profile missing

hi all,

I went quickly through the BQ24773 datasheet but I couldn't find any section related to the typical chargin profile (more or less the same for all the chargers).

In particular the precharge timer details.

hope you may prove me wrong :)

    Hi Vincenzo,

    The pre-charge current information is given in the EC table. Section 8.6.6 in the datasheet also provides some further explanation on this.

    When VBAT < BATLOWV (for 1-cell charging) or VBAT < VSYS_MIN (for 2-4 cell charging), the battery charge current is clamped below 384 mA. VBAT must rise above these voltage thresholds in order for the BQ24773 to apply the full fast charge current.

    I agree but I miss the timer :)

    Something like the "Figure 13. Typical Charging Profile" in BQ24610 datasheet, where precharge timeout is stated in electrical table (1800s +/-20%)

    Hi Vincenzo,

    The BQ24773 does not have a pre-charge safety timer or a fast charge safety timer. These features are not necessary on the BQ24773 because it is a host-controlled charger, unlike the BQ24610 that you mentioned (which is standalone).
