LM5045: VIN and VCC

Hi

My customer has question.

Can the LM5045 be used with the VIN pin open and direct voltage applied to the VCC pin?
The customer wants to apply an externally supply 12 V voltage to the LM5045 VCC.
And, I would like to operate the LM5045 with the VIN terminal open.
This is an application request, and we can not confirm why we need to do that.

    Hello T Kishi,

    You can allow the VIN terminal to remain open and apply your bias voltage to the VCC pin.

    The requirement is that VCC should never be greater than VIN  according to section 7.3.1 of the data sheet.

    If you connect VIN to VCC or leave VIN open then you will meet this requirement.
