BQ27500: Selecting Chem ID

Genius 12760 points

Part Number: BQ27500
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: BQ27510-G3, , GPCCHEM

I am just struggling with a SONY cell used in some of our products together with your gas gauges BQ27500, BQ27510-G3 and BQ20z75.
As we now additionally want to show the battery health status in our user software we have seen that we presumably use the wrong Chem ID (we use the default value) with your BQs. So we see inaccurate capacities especially at high discharge currents.

Now we have tried to improve the situation.
One charge cycle with the BQ27500 and your BQ-Easy-Tool has determined Chem ID 209. With that we get much better results.
As meanwhile recommended to use the GPC-Tool I have recorded a C/10_discharge curve showing a Chem ID 2048 however with a max. deviation of 4.7%.
See attached battery datasheet and feedback from the GPC-tool: SONY_US14500VR2.ZIP

How can this be improved

Regards, Bernd
