Dear Sir.
I would like to test the behavior of the charge safety timer.
How can I continue charging and have the safety timer work?
Best regards,
Chiaki Endo

Hi Chiaki,
The idea behind the charge safety timer is that if the battery has been charging for 10 hours (default safety timer value) and still isn't fully charged, then there may be abnormal battery conditions. The BQ25601 will then stop charging the battery for safety reasons.
As long as the safety timer is enabled, it will automatically count while the battery is charging. No extra steps are needed. If the safety timer expires, then the fault register CHRG_FAULT bits are set to 11, and an INT pulse is asserted to the host (please see Section 8.3.7.7 in the datasheet for more details).
Best regards,
Angelo
