Hello Sir,

I would like to connect EM1402EVM directly to host pc via USB port(without any battery and TMS connected). And i ve some questions. I am beginner, sorry if i am asking basic questions.

1) Trying to open the GUI but getting 'unable to open com port error'. I can observe it in device manager. Where could be problem derived from ?

2) Is that possible to open GUI without any cell or power supply ?

3) Can we check system with connecting external power supply as a cell to EM1402 ?

Hi Akif,

1) Please check that you following the steps similar to powering the bq76pl455aEVM in this user guide: http://www.ti.com/lit/ug/sluuba7a/sluuba7a.pdf as the device on board the EM1402EVM is the same. 2) YES, you need to power the board in order to use the GUI.

3) It is possible and you can simulate cells by using a resistor ladder but cell balancing will not work as intended.
