BQ24171: OVPSET

Hi:

The product I designed USES BQ24171.In the debugging process, when the OVPSET voltage is 3.2v, the chip can still work, the OVPSET is not off, and the range described by Vacov in Datasheet is 1.57 (Min) -1.63(Max).Please give me some guidance. Thank you.

Hi,

Your schematic looks reasonable. Just to confirm, U302 and U308 are NMOS, yes? When you say "chip can still work", what is working? In OVP, the chip should turn off U302 and U308 and turn on BATFET so that the system is tied to the battery. Also, the STAT line is blinking.

When I use a power supply to force > 1.63V on OVPSET, my EVM goes into OVP. Can you try that?

I tried to use the power supply to directly transfer OVPSET Pin to 3.2v, but did not enter OVP，Please give some Suggestions, thank you!

Hi Sunny,

Does this happen to multiple ICs are only 1?

When you apply 3.2V to OVPSET, does ACDRV drop to VDD=12V, which is not enough voltage to turn on the NMOS FETs?
