BQ27421-G1: Suitability of Part

Hi, Thanks in advance

I am new to battery gauge application.

I have requirement to design battery gauge application for circuit that will consume 1mA average current with charge current of around 50mA.

Planning to use BQ27421, lack of any information in datasheet and other resurces w.r.t accuracy for these low current rarely drained application.

Experts in the domain please help me to choose the right solution for problem.

    Hi Shiv Kumar,

    Unfortunately this gauge would not be suitable for your application. Any gauge we have requires a minimum current of at least C/10 rate or more. For a typical 1000mAh cell that would be 100mA. Yours is much lesser than that and therefore can't be supported by a gauge.
